Key Plant manufacture Head & Tailstock ranging from our standard range of 500kg to 30,000kg, larger capacities and special requirements can be manufactured to suit customer’s specific requirements.  We also hold an extensive range of used and second-hand equipment fully refurbished available. 

The primary function of Key Plant’s headstock range of machines is to assist the welding operator to rotate the work piece through 360o to reposition the component for inspection or welding.  An adjustable height idler can also be used in conjunction with a headstock to help support the work piece.
We can supply the headstock with a face plate only, with a clamp or chuck or the option of special purpose tooling to hold the customers components.

Key Plant manufacturers a hollow bore headstock which allows the work piece to pass through the centre of chuck see model HBC VPH5 in Key Plant’s brochure.

A headstock can be used in conjunction with a tailstock which allows the customer to rotate long and irregular shaped components like a vehicle or trailer body. This design enables the work piece to be manipulated and rotated that would normally only be possible with a crane.

Key Plant can also offer the added advantage of the elevating head & tailstocks which enable large and odd shaped components to be elevated and rotated then reposition the component to the correct position prior to welding.
